Scenario: Configure the database to be backup automatically by system, followed by the time to do backup.



(I) Setting Up Backup Type

Step 1: Open Ask4DBBackup program installed in your PC.


Step 2: Select Settings to setup your backup options.


Note: In this update, we have enhanced the capability of program, where users can backup various type of data with just a single auto backup program. Type of data backup available include:

(i) Sage UBS + Sage UBS Payroll

(ii) AutoCount

(iii) My SQL data

(iv) Ms SQL data

(v) Generic Data (General Folder/File)

(vi) DDNS Secure Active


Step 3: 

(i) Select type of data to be backup by ticking the corresponding box, followed by selecting location you wish your system to deploy data backup from Ask4DBBackup system.

(ii) Therefore, select the time you wish the system to do auto backup for you.

(iii) Backup frequency - Users may choose to let system perform auto backup daily/weekly.

(iv) Purging file:

In order to ensure users drive capacity not getting occupied by unnecessary or junk folders/data we have deployed a new function in which system will automatically exclude the (unnecessary) file dated on specific time. For example, if users pick up '15 Days Ago' options, system will automatically exclude the data (which have been backup from Ask4DBBackup) dated 15 days ago while it is doing auto backup.

(iv) Save the records once everything is set.



Additional Options:

1. Password Protection - Users may setup password of their file to prevent any authorize access by third parties.

Step 1: To setup file password, pick up box of password, followed by choosing 'Add Password'.

Step 2: Users will be requested to input new file password. Input password you wish to use and click on Save.


Step 3: You have successfully setup new password for your file.


Important Note: 

1. For the sake of users, DO NOT use simple password such as abc123, 123456, 987654, abcdef etc.

2. Each time when users attempt to open the file with password been set, users will be requested to input their password (set from Ask4DBBackup program). Users are strongly advised to remember the password set from system.



2. Cloud Backup - Users now can backup their data into:

(i) Dropbox

(ii) OneDrive or

(iii) Google Drive

(i) Dropbox

Step 1: To backup the data into Dropbox, pick up 'DropBox' option, followed by selecting DropBox login to logon to your Drop Box account.


Step 2: Logon to DropBox using corresponding username and password. You may use your google account to logon to Dropbox instead.


Step 3: Users will be requested to accept all terms and conditions in using Ask4DBBackup program to backup their data into their DropBox account. Accept the terms and conditions to proceed.


Step 4: Setup complete. Users now can backup their data into their DropBox account using Ask4DBBackup program.



(ii) OneDrive

Step 1: To backup the data into OneDrive, pick up 'OneDrive' option, followed by selecting OneDrive login to logon to your OneDrive account.


Step 2: Users will be requested to login using registered Microsoft account (personal account is recommended).


Step 3: Users are required to accept the terms and conditions in using Ask4DBBackup program to backup the data with OneDrive. Accept the terms and conditions to proceed.


Step 4: Setup complete. Users now can backup their data into their OneDrive account using Ask4DBBackup program.



(iii) Google Drive

Step 1: To backup the data into Google Drive, pick up 'Google Drive' option, followed by selecting Google Drive login to logon to your google account.


Step 2: System will prompt out a new window requesting users to continue using Ask4DBBackup program with respective google email. Input email and password to proceed.


Step 3: Please be noted that after users login are successful with correct Google email and password introduced they will receive the following message 'This app isn't verified'. Click on 'Advanced', followed by selecting 'Go to Ask4DBBackup UBS (unsafe)' to proceed.


Step 4: Users will be requested to agree all terms and conditions in using Ask4DBBackup program to backup the data into Google Drive. Click on Allow to proceed.



Step 5: Users now can backup their data into Google Drive using Ask4DBBackup program.
